Our History

Our history started in 2014 when we organized to plan for a mural festival.

We spent 4 years planning that festival, and are now planning our next steps.

2014

Walldogs contacted

In 2014, our chairman reached out to the International Walldogs to book an event in Streator, IL.

2016

Planning and Fundraising

In 2016, we created a 501(c)3 organization, Streatscapes, and began to fundraise for our big event. 

2017

Food Truck Festival

In 2017, we launched the Streator Food Truck Festival as a fundraiser for our event. Since then, this event has grown to 2 times a year.

2018

Murals and Milestones

In 2018, our Murals and Milestones event brought more than 260 artists to Streator to paint 18 murals in 4 days. The Murals celebrated our history and were part of Streator's Sesquicentennial and Illinois' Bicentennial.

TODAY

Phase two

After 2020, we slowed down a bit (just like the rest of the world). But, we have projects and ideas galore. Today, we are working on prioritizing projects and marketing Streator Arts to the world.
